A couple of my good friends just had a new baby boy. He came just before Christmas, what a wonderful present to this great couple and their little girl. I made a boat quilt for him because his room is all nautical. I thought I had made it a little too small, but his dad assured me it was the prefact size. He does look adorable in his crib laying on his new quilt. I haven’t made a quilt in about 15 years so I believe I could have done a better job but it’s made with love and I hope he feels it when he sleeps with it. It was a real pleasure for me and I had a blast with the pattern and design. I finally learned how to quilt with my baby-lock embroidery machine and plan on doing many more projects with it in the future.
Apples and Fall
Today I will put up another bushel basket of fall apples! There is nothing sweeter than fresh apples just picked from the tree. I put a bushel in the freezer last week and have already cooked 2 quarts of them. My family love fresh apple pies so I will keep some of these to make homemade apple pies and some I will share with my friends and co-workers. If you have the opportunity, (my good friend Debbie made the opportunity for me), put up some apples this fall for the winter ahead. You will be glad you did.
